I use a Nikon D200, digital SLR camera, and I shoot in RAW and
JPEG format. What does this mean for you? Well, let's talk about the
benefits of digital to start.
Most headshot photographers have gone digital, what with the
demand for color headshots and the affordability of digital color prints.
But aside from reproduction values, shooting digital in the field enables
me to "check" our shots, ensuring that we are getting the looks you
want! It also means I can take tons of pictures of you without worrying
about film.
As for picture formats, RAW files have more depth of color,
meaning that the shots really stand out. I also shoot in JPEG, which is
what you will receive on your personal picture disk. Then, you pick out
your faves and I touch them up in RAW, turn them into TIFF files, and you
take them off to your trusty printers to have them reproe'd. It sounds
complicated, but basically what it means is that you get outstanding pictures,
with true, vibrant colors.
